THE ELECTRICITY WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT)(SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000

Notice is hereby given that ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited, (company number NI028425, being registered in Northern Ireland and having its registered office at Arnott House, 12-16 Bridge Street, BELFAST BT1 1LS) has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent to construct and operate a wind farm in and around the area of Kilgallioch and Purgatory forests south of Barrhill and northeast of New Luce in the southwest of Scotland (Central Grid Reference 222252 572538) and for a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted. The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be up to 297 MW comprising 99 turbines, 97 turbines having a ground to blade tip height of up to 146.5 metres and 2 turbines having a ground to blade tip height of up to 125 metres.

ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited has now submitted to Scottish Ministers further information in the form of an Addendum which explains the changes made to the layout, provides any further information or clarification requested by consultees since the original application was submitted and updates the relevant assessments in light of the changes made since the Kilgallioch Environmental Statement. Copies of the Addendum supplementing the Environmental Statement have been provided, explaining the Company’s proposals in more detail, and are available for inspection during normal opening hours at:

• Girvan Library, Montgomerie St., Girvan, KA26 9HE ;

• Newton Stewart Library, Church St, Newton Stewart, DG8 6ER;

• Barrhill Hall and Community Centre, Main St., Barrhill, KA26 0PP;

• New Luce Post Office and Store, 1 Station Road, New Luce, Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, DG8 0AL;

• Kirkcowan Post Office, General Store, 34 Main Street, Kirkcowan, Newton Stewart, Wigtonshire, DG8 0HG; and

• Glenluce Key Store, 31 Main Street, Glenluce, Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, DG8 0PW.

The Addendum can also be viewed at the Scottish Government Library at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ and copies have been made available to South Ayrshire Council and Dumfries and Galloway Council for public inspection.

Copies of the Addendum may be obtained from ScottishPower Renewables (UK) Limited, (tel: 0141 614 0445) at a charge of £180 hard copy and £5 on CD (as PDF files for screen viewing only). Copies of a short non-technical summary are available free of charge.

Any representations should be made in writing to The Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow G2 8LU or emailed to representations@scotland.gsi.gov.uk identifying the proposal and specifying grounds for objection or support, not later than Friday 2nd March 2012. Representations should be dated and should clearly state the name (in block capitals) and full return email or postal address of those making representations. Only representations sent by email to the address stipulated will receive acknowledgement.

All previous representations received in relation to this development remain valid.
