TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997

THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 1999

PROPOSAL TO EXTRACT FURTHER RESERVES OF SAND AND GRAVEL AND TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE QUARRY UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2025 AT BALBLAIR QUARRY BALBLAIR BEAULY IV4 7BG

The Council has received an application from Aggregate Industries for Proposal to extract further reserves of sand and gravel and to extend the life of the quarry until 31 December 2025 at Balblair Quarry Balblair Beauly IV4 7BG (12/00039/FUL). The application is supported by an Environmental Statement.

The application, the accompanying Environmental Statement and plans are available for public inspection between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday at the following locations –

1.  Planning and Development Service, Council Offices, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness

2.  Planning and Development Service, Kintail House, Beechwood Business Park Inverness

They can also be accessed online at http://wam.highland.gov.uk/wam/ (search using the application number 12/00039/FUL)

Printed copies of the complete Environmental Statement can be purchased from Johnston, Poole And Bloomer, Richard Kenyon 50 Speirs Wharf Glasgow G4 9TB TEL 0141 331 1456 at a cost of £250. The Non Technical Summary can be obtained free of charge. A CD copy of the Environmental Statement can be obtained at a cost of £10.

The deadline for receipt of comments is 28 days from the date of publication of this notice.

The Council will acknowledge receipt of comments but is unable to respond individually to points or questions raised. Please note that your comments will be published online. Please quote the application reference number in your correspondence.
