FLOOD PREVENTION (SCOTLAND) ACT 1961
BRECHIN FLOOD PREVENTION SCHEME 2010
Notice is hereby given that Angus Council in exercise of powers conferred by the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act 1961 made
on 25 August 2010 the Brechin Flood Prevention Scheme 2010 (hereinafter referred to as the “Scheme”).
The general effect of the Scheme is to mitigate flooding within the town of Brechin in the County of Angus from the River
South Esk.
The range of flood defence measures includes a flood defence embankment and pumping station at the Inch Park, a flood defence
wall and pumping station at River Street, a flood defence embankment and pumping station within East Mill Road Caravan Park,
a flood defence wall at East Mill Works, a flood defence embankment and pumping station at the East Mill Pump House and the
replacement of the Den Burn surface water culvert.
A copy of the Scheme has been deposited at the following locations and may be inspected by any person, free of charge, at
the times stated during the period from 27 August 2010 to 30 November 2010 inclusive.

Friday and Saturday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Scheme is about to be submitted to the Scottish Ministers for confirmation and comes into effect only if confirmed. Any
person may object to the Scottish Ministers confirming the Scheme.
Any objection must be in writing stating the name of the scheme and the grounds of objection and be sent to the Directorate
for Environmental Quality, Scottish Government, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ by 30 November 2010.
