POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL ACT 1999

POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000 (“THE REGULATIONS”)

In accordance with paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the above regulations, Notice is hereby given that an application has been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for variation to Permit PPC/E/20059 under regulation 13 of the Regulations by Avondale Environmental Limited in respect of activities being carried out, namely landfill activities receiving more than 10 tonnes in any day or with a total capacity exceeding 25,000 tonnes in an Installation at Avondale Non-Hazardous Landfill Site, Polmont.

The application may be inspected free of charge, at SEPA, Edinburgh Office, Clearwater House, Heriot Watt Research Park, Avenue North, Riccarton, Edinburgh, EH14 4AP on any working day between 0930 and 1630. Please quote Reference No. PPC/E/20059.

The changes in operation proposed by the application are:

● The extension of the installation boundary and landfill operations within the approved Planning Boundary.

The application contains a description of the proposed changes in operation together with:

● An indication of the Variation to the Permit that the Operator wishes SEPA to make;

● Any additional information that the applicant wishes SEPA to take into account.

All guidance relevant to the determination of the proposed Variation which has been given to the operator is made available either on the Public Register or on the SEPA website, www. sepa.org.uk.

Written representation concerning this application may be made to the SEPA at the above address, or sent to e-mail address consultee.responses@sepa.org.uk and if received within 28 days of this Notice, will be taken into consideration in determining the application. Any such representations made by any person will be entered in a public register unless that person requests in writing that they should not be so entered. Where such a request is made there will be included in the register a statement indicating that representations have been made which has been the subject of such a request.
