THE A77 TRUNK ROAD (GIRVAN) (RESTRICTED ROADS) ORDER 201[ ]
THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under sections 82(2)(b), 83(1) and 124(1)(d)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will have the effect of restricting the speed on the following length of road
to 30mph:
The M77/A77 Glasgow – Stranraer Trunk Road at Girvan from a point 36 metres or thereby west of west tangent point of splitter
island of Shallochpark Roundabout to a point 167.3 metres or thereby south of the junction with route B734, a distance of
2.45 kilometres or thereby.
The effect of this is that Paragraph 2b of the schedule to the Trunk Roads (Restricted Roads) (Ayrshire) Order 1975 is revoked.
Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with a plan showing the length of road involved, a
copy of the existing Order being varied and a statement of the Scottish Ministers’ reasons for proposing to make the Order,
may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 31st August 2010 until 5th October 2010 at the offices of
Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 0HF; and South Ayrshire Council, Burns House, 16 Burns
Statue Square, Ayr KA17 1UT.
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds of the objection in writing to the Chief
Roads Engineer, c/o Mark Paterson, Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 0HF quoting reference A77/06/S12/SW/0401/003
by 5th October 2010.
