PROPOSED WIND FARM AT HILL OF NIGG, SOUTH OF RARICHIE FARM, FEARN, TAIN, ROSS AND CROMARTY, HIGHLAND

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION

Planning application for the erection of 5 wind turbines, 80 metres high to tower hub and up to 125 metres high to maximum blade tip extension, construction of 2.3 Km of access tracks and improvement of 2Km existing private access tracks, formation of site access on to the B9175 road, erection of switch room building and compound including septic tank and soakaway, erection of a permanent 80 metre on-site anemometry mast, installation of underground on-site cabling, formation of an on-site quarry or borrow pit and erection of temporary construction compound and welfare facilities at Hill of Nigg, South of Rarichie farm, Fearn, Tain

In February 2008 The Highland Council received a planning application accompanied by an Environmental Statement for the construction of five wind generators with associated access tracks, substation and ancillary works and equipment at Hill of Nigg, South of Rarichie farm, Fearn, Tain. The applicants are Falk Renewables Ltd. Beauly House, Dochfour Business Centre, Dochgarroch, Inverness, IV3 8GY

Since then supplementary environmental information (SEI) has been received. This material is as follows:—

(a)  Revised Non-Technical summary

(b)  SEI Volume 1 – Planning policy, cultural heritage, ornithology, hydrology and air pollution, borrow pit, transport infrastructure and safety

(c)  SEI – Volume 2 – Landscape and visual assessment

The application is advertised as a potential bad neighbour and as a Departure from the Development Plan as well as an application accompanied by an Environmental Statement.

Any person wishing to make representations to the Highland Council should make them in writing to the Director of Planning and Development, Highland Council, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX within a period of 28 days beginning with the date of the publication of this notice on the 27 August 2010. For the avoidance of doubt the 28 day period for making representations shall end at the close of business on Friday the 24 September 2010.
