NEW ROADS AND STREETWORKS ACT 1991
SECTION 117 NOTICE OF SUBSTANTIAL WORKS FOR ROAD PURPOSES (SCOTLAND)
1. Three months advance notice is hereby given that Midlothian Council intends to carry out substantial works for road purposes
2. The road in which these works will take place is A701: Milton Bridge to Moorfoot View; Moorfoot View to Bilston; A701 between
B7006 and C36 Pentland Road; and Pentland Road to Sainsbury’s Roundabout.
3. Work is expected to affect the carriageway between A701 Milton Bridge to Sainsbury’s Roundabout.
4. Work is expected to commence on January 2008.
5. The works notified will include the following
a. Bus lanes north of Milton Bridge
b. New signals at Auchendinny junction
c. Bus lanes to Gowkley Moss Roundabout
d. Pedestrian Toucan crossing north of Roundabout
e. Signalisation of Plover Hall Roundabout
f. Bus lanes to Bilston Roundabout
g. Bus lanes and signals at Nivensknowe junction
h. New signals at Ikea Roundabout
i. New location of bus stops
j. Bus lanes between Damhead and Sainsbury’s Roundabout
6. Subject to the exemptions in the Act and Regulations under it, no roadworks may be executed for a period of 12 months from
completion of the works described in paragraph 5 without consent of Midlothian Council, which shall not be unreasonably withheld.
